Sherry Ladig is a musician and composer in Minnesota’s Twin Cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. A frequent performer of many styles of folk music including Traditional Irish (Dunquin), Scottish dance and concert performance (Dalwhinnie), mid-to-late 19th century American (The New Pearl Buttons), and Elite Rabble (music from the Georgian and Regency periods, including English Country Dance music and British naval music). Sherry performs Celtic and 19th-century historic music regularly in the Twin Cities. Dunquin, Dalwhinnie, and all Sherry’s bands are available for private or public events all around the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Contact Sherry to arrange a gig!

Also an active composer, Sherry is the composer-in-residence for the Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra and composes a wide range of works for all types of instrumental and choral ensembles. Sherry is the recipient of Irish Arts Minnesota’s Honors Award, bestowed upon one who has significantly contributed to the vibrancy and vigor of Irish cultural life in Minnesota. She received the award in 2024 for her original compositions and musical collaborations with traditional Irish musicians.

    Scottish Fair Annual Burns Night at Torg Brewery

    Time: 5:30 pm

    Enjoy Robert Burns' birthday by celebrating Scottish-style, with music and dance. Pipe bands, dancers, Burns' poetry, toasts, the wee dram, and kilts, oh my! Dalwhinnie (aka Dunquin) plays for the Scottish social dancing; no experience, just super-simple dances (or just listen if you prefer). See link below for tickets to this event.

    TWENTIETH Scottish Island Concert

    Time: 7:00 pm

    Come back to the Scottish Island; it's our 20th year! Enjoy heartmelting airs and lively reels presented by Dunquin and guests musicians, readings by Scottish Island author Audrey McClellan, and a bang-up Scottish Tea at the interval, all included in the $20 admission at the door. Concert at 7 pm; doors open at 6:30 p.m. Olivet Congregational Church Social Hall; 1850 Iglehart Ave Saint Paul (one block north of Marshall; one block west of Fairview).     IAM St Patricks Day Celebration at Landmark Center

    Time: 12:20 pm

    Dunquin plays the quiet tearoom (Courtroom 317) from 12:20-1 pm on St Patrick's Day,. There's fun and merriment all over the building: music, dancing, and Irish entertainment of all kinds! Modest admission to the whole event; see their website address below. The Tearoom is a great place to get a scone and a cup of tea and relax for a bit. Hope to see you!
