Sherry Ladig is a musician and composer in Minnesota’s Twin Cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. A frequent performer of many styles of folk music including Traditional Irish (Dunquin), Scottish dance and concert performance (Dalwhinnie), mid-to-late 19th century American (The New Pearl Buttons), and Elite Rabble (music from the Georgian and Regency periods, including English Country Dance music and British naval music). Sherry performs Celtic and 19th-century historic music regularly in the Twin Cities. Dunquin, Dalwhinnie, and all Sherry’s bands are available for private or public events all around the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Contact Sherry to arrange a gig!
Also an active composer, Sherry is the composer-in-residence for the Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra and composes a wide range of works for all types of instrumental and choral ensembles. Sherry is the recipient of Irish Arts Minnesota’s Honors Award, bestowed upon one who has significantly contributed to the vibrancy and vigor of Irish cultural life in Minnesota. She received the award in 2024 for her original compositions and musical collaborations with traditional Irish musicians.

Dunquin plays for Alden Square park's neighborhood potluck; bring a dish to share and a lawn chair or blanket! An annual tradition, Alden Square has hosted Dunquin for 15 years at this "big tent" (everyone welcome) family friendly event. Dogs, kids, parents,friends, everyone welcome. Potluck starts around 6 p.m; music around 7 to 8 p.m. in the gazebo. Dunquin at MN Irish Fair

Sherry and Don, of Dunquin, will give a workshop in "How to Play Backup Piano Irish Ceili Style/ HT Play with a Backup Pianist" at 1 p.m. Saturday August 9th, and will play two half-hour sets in the Tearoom August 9th, at10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The workshop is for the basics of ceili piano with dancers in mind. The tearoom is the quiet, serene place to get in out of the bustle of the Fair. The entire event is FREE!
